만일 이를 지키지 않을 경우 이민 신청자들은 제때 통지서를 받지 못해 영주권 발급이 늦어질 수 있으며 외국인의 경우 추방까지 가능하다. USCIS에 따르면 새 양식은 오는 2014년 12월 31일까지 유효하다.
